Estepona

The
town "Estepona" with the "Harbour"
is directly situated on the Mediterranean Sea,
below the large mountain "Sierra Bermeja".
Estepona offers a beautiful sea front promenade
with fine sandy beaches (approx. 21 km long),
exactly beside the main road, with Hotels of high
quality, and the old town area.
The heart of the town is typically mediterranean,
with the small park and the nice fountain (photo
below), the alleys and the pedestrian zones (photo
above).
Years ago nobody thought that this could be a
requested area, a tourist´s paradise. But
things have changed in between.
So, because of the tourists and their interests
in purchases of real estates in this area, the
prices are risen to buy a dream home.

Close
to the long sandy beaches in Estepona with its
wooden huts you can find the sport harbour (photo
above). A real important attraction of Estepona,
with Restaurants, Bars, Cafés and lots
of other small shops, indeed worth seeing, already
because of the unique blue painted buildings.
The harbour is clear arranged, and you can see
everything in a short time.
Historical:
Estepona was not well-known in early times, and
was ignored on the way to Portugal. Estepona,
the "phoenician Astapa" became perhaps
famous because of the battles on land and sea
during the Middle Ages.
From the past of Estepona you can still sea rests
of a roman waterpipe. Worth seeing are also the
Moorish Fortress, the Baroque Tower of the Parish
Church and the Ruins of "Salduba".
Further
recreation offers:
Walking through the Nature Park at the foot of
the mountain Sierra Bermeja, or try one of the
different aquatic sport offers on the beautiful,
miles long, sandy beaches, or choose between several,
well looked after golf courses.
If as a single, couple or family with children,
everyone can feel comfortable here.
Estepona, despite its change into a modern appearance,
has maintained the old traditions of the town.
So there is once a time between others in the
year a big agricultural fair with a contest, in
which the most beautiful animals will be awarded
a prize to.

Shopping
is also no problem, because there are several
large supermarkets, and of course the lots of
small and big shops. The tourists and the residents
will miss nothing.
Those
who have hired a car, should visit the back country.
It is really worth seeing, and the mountain Sierra
Bermeja is impressive.
Estepona offers beside Benalmádena not only
the possibility to buy a boat ( if wished with maintenance
service ), but also the possibility to rent a boat.
Visit this city. Holiday at the seaside is fantastic.
And a "go-go" is Estepona always.
And:
Estepona offers a nudism beach (by Arroyo Vaquero).
There is the wildlife park "SELWO" directly
close to Estepona, with more than 2000 animals,
tropical gardens, a variety of flowers and plants,
another attraction to visit also Estepona.
In the "Tourist Office" not far away from
the beach you can receive further information about
events and festivities. They speak different languages.
